Hey Masses!
So last week I posted a tutorial on a DIY Muscle Fringe Tee and I decided to show some options on how you can dress this new addition to my closet.
First look is a casual look. I would probably wear this to a festival. Since the top is so lose and comfortable is seems only appropriate for that. I also have on a pair of studded boots to add extra to the "punk" look.
Next I incorporated a leather jacket and a pair of black skinny jeans. This would be a great look for a chill night out with the friends, movies, or a stylish day for errands.
Lastly I wanted to show a possible date night look. I paired the top with a cute high waist circle skirt. Great way to feel dressy but not too dressy. I would wear this out on a date night with the man.

Hey Masses,
So my hair has been natural for about 3 years now. And i can honestly say that my hair has never been more healthy than it is now. It's thick, shiny, and overall just looks great. However getting to the point that I'm at now was not easy. Over the years I've realized that if you dont have the time and patience to invest into your hair, your not gonna get the results your looking for. As long as I can remember I've always wanted long hair but all my life i'd never had hair past the small of my neck. So the idea that black girls didnt grow long hair seemed a bit true to me since this was an unattainable goal for me.
As i got older and overall more and more in love with the idea and the look of my natural hair, I made a conscious decision to start investing more time into my natural hair. I started researching natural/homemade products to use in my hair, hairstyle, and weekly regiments to implement into my routine. I decided to leave the weaves out for awhile and really take the time to give my hair the love it needs and deserves. After a month I was extremely pleased with the results. I recently took out my faux locs and decided that it was time for me to tackle this so far unattainable goal of growing my hair. Over the next couple of months, I'll be tracking my hair growth process, posting homemade products I've come across, healthy recipes (healthy diet=healthy hair), hairstyles and just letting you all know of my overall progress. Hope you all come back and check out my progress as I will be posting something every week! I'm really excited about this and can't wait to share my progress. 😄 XOXO

Happy Thursday!!!!
So today I'm going to be showing you all a very simple DIY fringe top. I originally saw the idea of doing a fringe top from pinterest. I've actually been wanting to create my own a while and fortunately the opportunity to do so came about when my boyfriend decided to give me he's old Ozzy Osborne graphic tee. I immediately figured this would be a great opportunity to try it out for myself. I'm constantly going to various music events, festivals etc, and outside of experiencing the music, we all wanna be comfortable and look great in the process so making your own clothes or accessories help you stand out in the massive crowd. So let's get started! Here are a list of things your going to need:
Now your going to measure 2' inches from both sides of the shoulders and 1' inch from the bottom of the armpit area downward.
Just like with the collar draw a line from the shoulder down to connect with the marks under the armpit. At this point this is what your tee shirt should look like.
Now determine how long you want your fringe to be. I chose to go more than half way to the end and drew a line indicting my stopping point. Because I wanted a lot of fringe, I marked 1/2' inch indicators from left to right. In total I had a total of 40 marks. I don't recommend making your strips any smaller than that because you run the risk of having fringe that is too skinny and a higher chance of ripping. Your shirt should be clearly marked with at all points that need to be cut. Now its time to start cutting.
And this is the final product!!! This top came out AWESOME! I'm very happy with the results. For my first time attempting this is came out better than I thought. Hope this tutorial. If you have any questions feel free to leave me a comment :)

So let's get started! Here are a list of things your going to need:
- Old Tee Shirt
- Marking pencil/marker
- Tape Measure
- Sharp Scissors
Before we get started, make sure you are working on a flat surface. There will be moments were you need to make adjustments to the shirt so its important that your working area is flat and helps keep the tee aligned. We're gonna start by making all the marks on your shirt before doing any cutting. Start by marking the portion to cut off the collar. Measure about half an inch from each side of the collar. Once you've measured both side, use your marker/pencil to connect both ends. So in the end you should have a clear marker of where you need to cut around the collar.
Now your going to measure 2' inches from both sides of the shoulders and 1' inch from the bottom of the armpit area downward.
Just like with the collar draw a line from the shoulder down to connect with the marks under the armpit. At this point this is what your tee shirt should look like.

Your shirt should be clearly marked with at all points that need to be cut. Now its time to start cutting.
Start by cutting the bottom hem of your tee to create an unfinished hem. All that's left to do is to start cutting out the individual strips. Remember to keep both the front and back panel of your shirt together to prevent getting too rigid strips. As you cut your stripes pull on each piece to save you time on stretching each of them after cutting.
Here's what it looks like once your done!
Lastly cut out the marked sections from the collar and the sleeves.
And this is the final product!!! This top came out AWESOME! I'm very happy with the results. For my first time attempting this is came out better than I thought. Hope this tutorial. If you have any questions feel free to leave me a comment :)

Hello Masses,
So as I posted a couple of days ago, I was starting a new project to symbolize this new beginning for me with trying to grow and spread the word about my blog. And as I explained, I wanted this to represent letting go of the past and starting fresh. So since this is a blog which also focuses on fashion, it only seemed appropriate to let go of old clothes that I've been holding on to for no reason.
Before I get into some details these are some before pictures
As you can clearly see my closet was in very bad shape so it was time to get things in order. First i decided to get all my winter stuff put away. Sweater, scarves, jackets etc. It's summer time and definitely won't be needing these for a while. I decide the best way to store them was to neatly fold and organize them into these clear plastic bins that I have. These are perfect because you can see the articles or clothing inside prior to opening them. They are also great cause they provide air flow around your clothes Now if you don't have the space in your closet to incorporate these I suggest storing any bulky sweater in space saver bags or just hanging them up in your closet to give you extra folding space. The only limitation in using space saver bags is there is no air flow surrounding your clothes. If you do chose to hang your sweater, be mindful of the type of hanging being used. I recommend for knitted, or cowl neck sweaters to use hangers with grips on the ends to prevent your clothing from getting snagged or slipping off the hangers.
In the end it took me about a week to completely finish organizing things but after so much work, I feel that I've gotten to a comfortable level of clothes left behind. When you really do think about it, there are a lot of benefits that comes with reorganizing your closet. Not only does cleaning out your closet help you shed some excess clothes, it also has the potential to benefit someone else who may be in need. It helps prevent excess shopping, believe it or not shopping can be an addiction. and last but of course not least you also get a chance to reevaluate some of the clothes hidden in there and make good use of some old clothes. So in the end this is the finished product. I know have space for new additions and have put some hidden clothes in my drawers in plane sight and my favorite part of it all I have some extra hangers now!!!!

Next it was time to tackle down the pile of jeans that I own. This was the tricky part. I have a certain attachment to my jeans and I also tend to fluctuate in weight as well lol, so I hold on to jeans that don't fit in case my weight goes up or down I will always have a really nice pair of jeans to wear. I really hope i'm not the only woman who does this. So I think it's time to let go of the bigger jeans that I own and just keep my diet under control. After dissecting the pile of jeans I own, in total I ended up giving away 11 pairs of jeans! I gave away so many pairs of jeans that I created a whole new level of storing space for my clothes. So these are the pairs that I chose to keep.
That retail experience pays of when it comes to folding clothes at home.

A blog, much like anything else has been one of the most difficult things for me to start and stay dedicated to. The sad part of this challenge is that the only thing stopping my progress is myself. I like to consider myself as one of my biggest critics when in actuality I'm probably my biggest obstacle as well. When I take a moment and look at everything in perspective, it becomes clear to me that my biggest hurdle has been the struggle to seek perfection. Yet when you think of the idea of perfection, its a complete unattainable achievement. What one needs to realize is the search/hunt of perfection is only accomplished when YOU truly feel satisfied with your body of work. However in order to get to that point we all need a starting ground. A structure which can be built on.
I've now realized that in order to accomplish anything, fear and self doubt should be used as a motivator and not as hindrance. When I look back at my past year, I've been stuck in the same rut! BUT NO MORE TO THAT! So with that being said, it's time for a new beginning and a new chapter to start in my life. I can honestly admit that I'm lost in this new journey but I know that with time, hardwork and dedication, this really could be a new start for me.
So after evaluating everything, I decided it would be best to have my first actual post be about something that I don't do as often as I should which is cleaning out my closet. There's a certain point in our lives that we are just prone to accumulate a lot of sh!+. Right now I have clothes in my closet that I don't remember ever wearing but for some unknown reason, over the years I continue to convince myself that I'll eventually wear them. At this point I think its time to let go of the past, let go of the excess baggage (of clothes in this sense) and make space for new clothes lol. As I've been going through this process I've found a lot of amazing hidden gems in this cluttered mess. But most importantly its making me more aware of the similarities in my clothes and also of signature pieces that I'm missing to put together a great look for my style. As of now, I'm 2 days into my project but on this very early friday morning, I felt the hunger inside pushing me to share a post about this. It's probably the building block I need to keep me accountable to continue to share and build on this dream I have. So please stay tuned to see how my wardrobe makeover goes XoXo
